We Do Data

The Office of Data and Analytics’ mission is to create, foster and improve WVU’s data and information ecosystem.

Doing so requires holistic, thoughtful and deliberate designing of curated, accurate and relevant data sets delivered in easy-to-consume formats that are both insightful and aesthetically pleasing. We leverage the latest technology and strategic partnerships across campus to be both effective and efficient in our efforts.

  • Drive University data storage, processing and infrastructure through the use of modernized applications.

Our Objectives

  • Develop a holistic view of university data by documenting and cataloging University systems and data stores.
  • Create data domain specific dashboards and visualizations supporting strategic decision making.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive data request process that is both user friendly and transparent.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in projecting, modeling and analyses to assist University leadership in strategically managing enrollment.
  • Model and share best practices in Data Management and Governance (DMG) through leading campus-wide DMG efforts.
  • Continue to support the modernization program through DMG as domains are developed and introduced.
